When you send your young adult off to college or their own place, be in agreement on who is paying for what with this customizable template for a smartphone contract.
This form is designed to spark discussion and negotiation in your family and help you think through the possible issues. We also hope it helps facilitate discussion of difficult topics, like the permanence of what is posted online and how it might be seen by future employers, for example. Communication with your child on these topics matters more than a piece of paper!
This is a form of smartphone contract designed for a young adult child who is “grown and flown” (i.e., does not live with you most of the time, but is still on your phone plan). Therefore, it does not include many of the more prescriptive controls included in our form of contract for a younger child. See our product Smartphone Contract for a Tween/Teen Living at Home for a much more restrictive form of agreement.
This document is easily edited. It was designed for use with Microsoft Word or Google Docs. You will need Microsoft Word or Google Docs to make changes and edit this template.
Once you purchase this product, you get immediate access to a Word doc download. Download your form and edit it with your family’s information and details. The instructions (on the last page) have some ideas for changes to consider, as well. When you are done, delete the instructions, print your finished contract, and sign it!
